a beginning…

This is a shot of some houses on New Street near the North Augusta – Churchville Avenue intersection.  It is currently considered my most “interesting” photograph on flickr -and is also a personal favorite – so I figure this is a good first image to post on this new blog.  It is a 4 second exposure that was taken very close to the ground on a gorilla pod with my ricoh gx100. I usually don’t do a lot of color work but like the way the colors turned out with this shot.  This shot reminds a friend of paintings by Edward Hopper, which is exactly what I am going for much of the time.

  1. I walk by those houses just about every day. I always wonder what they are like (and even where like) inside. They’ve got stories, as does your photo. Just like a Hopper.
