white star mill, originally uploaded by Aaslestad.

This photo has been distorted so that the image matches its subjects’s actual shape. In other words the photograph has been “rectified” and can be accurately mapped (digitally) onto the orthogonal surface of the building’s facade. When printed to a known scale, or when integrated into CAD software, an image such as this can provide accurate quantifiable data about the building’s size and shape.
