Here is a shot from my 365 project that I didn’t complete. It’s where I get my hair cut.

The Willow Tree at Gypsy Hill

Willow

When I moved to Staunton in 1996 there was a magnificent willow tree on this same little island in the middle of the duck pond. It was blown over or split later that year or the next – I don’t remember – but I do remember thinking how it will take forever to replace that gorgeous tree… That was before I realized how fast these trees grow. This magnificent specimen was planted by the city shortly after the previous tree was lost and in no time (it seems) the replacement has matched the grandeur of its predecessor.

I’ve always thought that this nice little building is under used somehow. Its easy to get a shot of it empty like this. Infrared filter Hoya R72 on a Canon 5D with a Voigtlander 20mm manual focus lens.
